Whether your interested in an apprenticeship in machining, welding and fabrication, quality control or mechanical fitting we will develop you to the highest standards in your chosen field.
The specific training you receive will depend on which apprenticeship pathway you would like to take at Express Engineering. In 2026 we will be considering apprentices for the following business areas:
- CNC Machining
- Welding
- Quality Control
- Assembly and Testing

Whichever pathway you choose, the basic training for all apprentices will follow the following process:
Year 1
You will initially be based at our training provider on a full-time basis, where you will learn the practical basics of your chosen engineering field while working towards a Level 3 qualification.
Year 2
You will receive extensive on the job training from our highly skilled mentors.
In year 2 your will have day release with our training provider to complete your Level 3 qualification.
Years 3 & 4
In years 3 and 4, there may be opportunities to complete additional qualifications, for those who achieve outstanding results in level 3 qualification.
- GCSE’s at Grade 5 or above in Maths, Science and English
- An interest in engineering and manufacturing
- Enthusiasm! Be keen to learn and experience new things
- A can-do attitude
- Work well with others in a team environment
